Official presentation of Malasombra at Museo Arcade Vintage

20 de February de 2025by 4MHz0

Last Saturday February 15th took place the official presentation of Malasombra at the Vintage Arcade Museum in Ibi. A very important event for the whole 4MHz team, as this milestone represents the culmination of more than 5 years of hard work on this project.

In an incomparable setting, as is the Vintage Arcade Museum, and surrounded by great friends of the Retro scene, we had the opportunity to give a short talk about everything behind the development of Malasombra.

We also took the opportunity to unveil several firsts, as is the case of the cover of the video game, created by Lorena Azpiri several years ago, and that has remained more or less in the shadows until this official presentation. Lorena has done a spectacular job, we are very proud of this cover.

It was also officially announced the creation of a Kickstarter to get funding for the creation of the physical edition. By the way, it is already in pre-launch status. You can sign up to be notified when the campaign is finally published.

We project the teaser, a live action video with which we want to draw the attention of all retro videogame lovers in general, and NES in particular, to promote the Kickstarter.

Finally, attendees had the opportunity to see an in-game trailer where many particularities of Malasombra that have remained hidden until now are revealed. This trailer will remain hidden until our Kickstarter campaign is active, which we believe will happen in about a month.

It was very exciting for us to see so many people who took the trouble to come that day: Felisuco (juegos.de), Josep Albors, Gabriel GarcĆa, Fran Gallego (CPCTelera), Juan Carlos Amestoy (Retro Virtual Machine), JosĆ© Luis RodrĆguez (Vida Extra Retro), Alejandro MonzĆ³ (Las Cosas Retro), Amado Sanchez y JosĆ© Luis Sanz (Hecho con Pixels) among many others (and please excuse those we left out!!).

The curator of the museum, Eduardo Arancibia, organized every detail to make the presentation a success. From these lines our heartfelt thanks to Eduardo and the Museo Arcade Vintage for making possible such a special day.

As everyone knows, there are some unwritten laws in the retro scene that order to go to lunch together to all those who share a hobby, and on this occasion we could not skip them (what would the Retro Police say, if not ā€¦). So all together we enjoyed a good meal and after dinner among friends. To all those who, for lack of knowledge or shyness did not sign up, tell them that next time they should send emails or messages asking, that there is always a “party”ā€¦ šŸ™‚

This presentation would have been lost, like tears in the rain, if it wasn’t for the great work of Vida Extra Retro, Las Cosas Retro or Hecho con Pixels, who gave a spectacular coverage to the whole presentation. We wanted to reserve these lines to thank them in a special way the hard work they did documenting everything, and the one they are doing with the postproduction of the material, creating videos and writing articles. There are not enough beers to pay for so much dedicationā€¦. Thank you very much mates!!! In our Press Clippings section we will be referencing all your published work.
